I had a good friend and preacher ask for my recommendations concerning well-written books on supposed Bible contradictions. Below is the list of books I have found useful in studying this subject and in helping others who are seeking answers.
It became plain to me many years ago that many supposed contradictions and untruths (often alleged to be in the Bible), are often things in which we lack sufficient facts, in which we do not understand the viewpoint or language or purpose of the author, or in which the modern reader simply disagrees with the ancient author. Some of the following texts address “what constitutes a discrepancy” and bring some clear reasoning to the table.
Alleged Discrepancies of the Bible by John W. Haley
When Critics Ask: A Popular Handbook on Bible Difficulties by Norman Geisler and Thomas Howe
Hard Sayings of the Bible by Walter Kaiser, F F Bruce, etc.
New International Encyclopedia of Bible Difficulties by Gleason Archer
Dealing with Bible Problems: Alleged Errors and Contradictions, by James Montgomery Boice
Answers to Tough Questions Critics Ask, by Josh McDowell
